These bounded examples expose architecture differences; they are not a complete market sample or a best-product list.
Integrated and separate architectures solve different problems
The integrated example puts scheduled feeding and a fixed camera in one device. That can make initial placement and app management simpler. It also means the feeder location determines the camera view, and one physical device contains both functions.
The separate examples use the same PetSafe feeder with either a pet-specific Petcube camera or a general Wyze indoor camera. The camera can be placed for room coverage instead of bowl coverage, and a feeder hardware problem does not automatically remove the camera. In exchange, the household manages two devices, two accounts, two update paths, and at least two power and network relationships.
